Resolute produces market pulp at five facilities in North America, with total capacity of 1.4 million metric tons, or 8% of total North American capacity.
Our market pulp includes virgin pulp and recycled bleached kraft pulp, for which we are a leading global producer.
Wood pulp is the most commonly used material to make paper and tissue. Pulp not converted into paper or tissue is sold as market pulp, which is used to make a range of consumer products, including tissue, packaging, specialty paper products, diapers and other absorbent products.
26% of our 2019 market pulp shipments were exported outside of North America, including significant exports to Europe, Asia and Latin America.
